Help if you can
I am planning to go watch the F1 this year (Race Day 2nd September). I am on a budget of nearly nothing, does anyone live near the circuit and has spare floor space I could use or know any cheap ways of me getting from England to there.
Drop into IRC if you can help.
Thanks

downtime
We have been experiencing some downtime for the last couple of hours. Although we are working hard on it we can not promise all services will be stable, for now you can connect to the AAC+ and OGG streams. We will update you once we get everything up and running again..
EDIT: Shoutcast back up o/

It's been a while and there has been much whipping of our team of Website Devs (He enjoys it really, but that's a matter between him the dungeon and the police).

integrated dbfm player
Hi guys, just rolling out the new update. You may have noticed the new tune in button.. it is an integrated audio player which lets you listen to dbfm directly from your browser! Give it a try whenever you don't feel like opening VLC or winamp :-) It uses a different encoding depending on your browser. You can listen with your favorite player by using the links on top.

Regarding radio instability.
Sorry guys, we have had a lot of problems with our streaming software because of broken dependencies and buggy third-party libraries but we upgraded to a stable version and updated our configurations files so hopefully the radio should be running smoothly from now (and play all different kinds of fat beats).

Listening to DBFM
Being able to choon into DBFM via my fillings is an advantage, for those of you that take better care of your teeth this is important information...(ish)...
Choosing your media player. One word Winamp!
I recently set about a random download frenzy at work (bit bored) to download the best sounding media player for my nice new headphones. Turns out Winamp (after loading the headset preset equalizer setting) won by a looooong way.
If your not listening to DBFM via winamp then you could be missing out on a better sound. Give it a whirl, tis free
BTW If you disagree, hassle me on IRC and give me something else to try.

Tuesday
Its not often that I post on a Tuesday (actually its not often I post at all). You may have noticed a bit of IRC trouble yesterday, apparently the Access-IRC had a bit of a bad break up with one of its servers, causing net splits.
All is back to normal (normal?!?!) now, so swing by and idle like the rest of us (I really know how to sell this don't I?)

FRIDAYS
I have noticed a pattern....
Friday seems one of the most popular days, I can only assume this is because it crops up on such a regular basis. Wells its here again! Woot I hear you say, yes Woot indeed, for we have a pretty stunning selection of DJ's for you ears to caress.
Starting with 1900 GMT (ish) is Shooey
Then prepare for the deep bass that is Neuralnet, he will hold your hand and guide your through the darkness and then leave you there all scared, BUT your ears will love you for it!
As ever drag yourselves to IRC and join the fun/idleness

Phreaky Phones
Not exactly music related, but I listen to DBFM on my phone a lot, I use a HTC HD2 (Leo) it came with Windows Mobile 6.5. I now have it running Android Gingerbread.
The app i use is Tune In, it has DBFM listed and if you signal is a big shit (Welcome to everywhere i go it seems) then you can press "Options" and choose the 32k AAC stream.
Anyway here is a little tribute my phone, its nearly geriatric in smart phone terms, but still one of the most developed phones around.
Have a read if you have not filled your "Nerd/Geek" quota for the day.

Long time no post, sorry about that, been busy with evil plans (coming soon).
Looks like Apple stole the IPAD idea from 2001 space odyssey, well kinda, Samsung are using the film as a patent defence though! Kinda cool no?

New server.

We did it again! We managed to break pretty much every piece of software our server ran so we trashed it and got a new one. The old ran an outdated operating system, now we have a shiny new Linux installation with the latest and greatest software.
The good news is we have two new streams for your listening pleasure:
- AAC+ only 32kbps! You can listen to dirtybass.fm even if you are on a dial-up connection hehe! Runs very smooth on Android and iOS devices using Tune In. Try the AAC+ stream!
- OGG This is a VBR stream which is approximately 110kbps and is of better quality than the MP3 stream, so listen to this one if your player can handle it. Support open source software! Try the Vorbis stream!
